Barry comes to the Roanoke Valley by way of Wilmington, Delaware. There he worked for over 10 years as a mechanical draftsman/designer for the Speakman Company, a manufacturer of commercial and industrial plumbing fixtures. After relocating to the Roanoke area with his family in the late 90’s he decided to try his hand at something different. He returned to college and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education and teacher certification from Radford University. After teaching for nearly 13 years and motivating students to get out and try different things, he decided to take his own advice and moved into the field of commercial construction. Here at ADG he has been offered great opportunities to learn and work in many areas of the industry. He has enjoyed working projects with large scopes such as the Liberty University Freedom Tower and Virginia Military Institute’s Corp Physical Training Facility to the smaller more personalized ones for past customers who return to American Door and Glass knowing they can expect quality and consistency.
