Larry Lamanca

Larry began his career as an Administrator in Radiology, a profession as far away from the construction field as possible. But a strong desire to create and own a business led him to start Virginia Automatic Door Company in 1981 and continue in the construction business for over 25 years. From there he founded Prime Properties, a land development and residential construction company located in Richmond, Virginia. In 1992, Larry decided to move his family back to his hometown of Roanoke, Virginia. It was here in the Roanoke Valley that he developed American Door & Glass, S.W. VA, Inc. What started as a small company has grown into the largest commercial glass company in Southwest Virginia. Two of Larry’s favorite projects, which can be viewed on our website, are Appalachian State University Basketball Arena, located in Boone, NC and Patrick Henry High School, located in Roanoke, VA. One of Larry’s greatest rewards is to be a member of the Board of Directors for the Dave Lamanca Golf Scholarship Tournament, a fundraising event that offers scholarships for college bound students. He also enjoys spending time with his family, playing racquetball and golf, and traveling.
